Peaceful Suite of Rooms in a Historical Home

We are offering a generous bedroom, ensuite bathroom and work room, in our pet-friendly apartment. Our home is on the first floor of a three-story Italianate house built in 1865. Our daughter, her partner and an occasional foster dog, live in the... West side of our apartment and share the kitchen / dining area, washing machine and shower room with you. Your area occupies the Eastern side of the apartment and offers plenty of seclusion.

Our home is on College Hill; this is the historical part of town. We are a short walk to Brown University / RISD, local restaurants, a small movie theater and a post office. Wholefoods, Starbucks and bus stops are just five minutes away. The Commuter Rail and Amtrak train service are a seventeen minute walk (downhill) so you have easy access to Boston, New York and the entire East Coast.

There is covered storage for your bicycle(s) and, for drivers, a permit can be purchased for on-street parking. We are one of three condominiums in the house. We keep the apartment clean and organized, but relaxed and comfortable. We like to share our space when we can.

We are interior designers from Europe. I am a Professor of Design in Boston and looking forward to a sabbatical in the Spring and Summer of 2026. We’ve lived in Providence for twenty years so we know Rhode Island very well and can help you navigate the area. We have used this website during our own travels and appreciate the value of a good home away from home.
